Thats why then. If an after market filter has been fitted then you can either:

-Find a hose with a small outlet that you can connect the breather inline with your filter.
-Buy a small breather filter
-Buy an oil catch tank maybe?

My mate had this problem and we used the 2nd option and it stopped it.

You wont catch fumes but it'll stop the excess rocker oil being burnt

I'm not clued up that much on turbo'd stuff.
Why would you attach it inline with the filter?
How is a filter going to help if it's letting fumes out?
And what exactly is an OIL catch tank going to do?

Not meaning to be a dick, genuinely wondering.

Well it has obviously caked up after being left for a while. Yes on my mates Clio, he left the filter/rocker breather open. Within 7 days a thick sludge had caked up the hose and it was smoking. As I said, we put a small breather filter on it. Within a week it was totally gone.

it basically the same as the hose that goes from the rocker cover to the throttle body on an xe so putting a catch tank on it will do exactly the same thing as on an xe, will catch excess rocker oil as said. if you take that pipe off any engine it will smoke out of it its not just turbos it does it on

Its a breather. Doesnt make any difference if its n/a or aspirated. You will find that on most cars, one of the rocker breathers are attatched to some sort of filter to stop rocker oil build up, hence filters alow things to breathe easily. An oil catch tank will catch the excess rocker oil and deposit it into a tank so it cant be burnt or heated in the rocker which would result in it smoking.

If an oil catch tank's such a good thing and stops oil burning why aren't they like that as standard?

I'm confused out my nut here.

Not knowing what's being talked about, I'd put it back to the place it should be assuming it can be.

Because his car shouldn't have that breather flapping around! It should be connected to a hose that will allow the rocker to breathe! But it isn't! And no one said they're good. I was trying to help the lad.

What and leave it? Whats the point in that? Just do one of the 3 options that I've given you. Any of them will stop your problem.

No breather from the rocker cover goes to the airbox

one goes to the throttle body/top hat and the other to the crossover
