Why have a super nice fancy gas guzzling car, if your gonna be stuck in traffic or doing 40mph on the go to work run?

yeah but your missing the point

what are the emissions of the car

BMW now make a 2.0 diesel with 163BHP that emits 109

Like people have said - costs for manufacturing, recycling and actual benefits need more careful analysis

But if your not paying for it in the first place?

Cost of BMW new with all the toys, parking cameras, bluetooth, cruise, remote keys, and whatever else its got.

Just different opinions. I'd rather run a cheapo car, and have something nice saved for the weekend, be it car or bike.

but you can do that with anyway

Have a work horse for the week and a toy for the weekend

If you ran the pirus and BMW together for the year same mileage etc

I would be interested to see savings on fuel and the environment

I bet its very little

Its a marketing ploy - Japs have gone for hybrid

others have engineered there cars to be more efficient

However the develop the japs make is a good thing but its certainly doesn't do what it says on the tin

Cost of the car in the first place (i.e company car).
Some here have gone for BMW's dervs, but they are a lot more expensive per month inc fuel duty than the prius, hence why my boss and a couple of others have gone for it.

I'd also be interested to see how much the bmw and prius cost to run, but he had a 1.9 derv turbo before, and has gone for this because of the savings.

tbh, i've not got either, nor can afford either, so its it doesn't really concern me tooo much, it would be nice to have the option. Besides, my bike costs far less anyway

yeah can appreciate that

I just think its alot of marketing to be honest

it will be good for the future but there are just as efficient road cars out there that don't use the hybrid stuff

One for the future though
