Author Engine problem with my 1.7d Combo

Went and fired up my Combo today after a few months stood untouched and she fired up with a puff of smoke but died and when i started her again it wouldn't rev fully and stalled again. Any ideas?

Compression seemed strange and little air bubbles were around the head gasket (could be moisture on the head though) could also be head gasket failure also, but its strange as she run well last time she was started up.

clear out the diesel filter. then try

your saying there are bubbles around the head gasket... thats not right..

but do what adam said check the filter as these cause a few problems on the 1.3 and 1.7 diesles

Ok thanks i will try that. I know bubbles arent meant to be around the headgasket, but theres been a leak from the rocker cover which has run down the head to the headgasket area and once engine is warm the oil/moisture bubbles as its hot.

Only made this model combo in 1.5/1.7 too its the corsa b shaped one made in 1996.

might be water in the fuel filter. thos happened to my dads diesel pajero

Maybe yeah worth fitting a new one anyway as there cheap enough

sorry got mistaken as here are a 3 diesles for the b..

but thy all have the problem with air getting in, normaly the fuel filter housing

could be the gasket.
