Just got a phone call to go recover my mates evo 5,
He was holding it at 5500 RPM in second gear, then suddenly died, popped the bonnet to find the dipstick had been popped out, and oil everywhere!
What do you think has happened? Rod? Crank?
Also how hard is it to fit an evo engine

Didnt say it had no oil in it tbh
id say about 0.3789 litres was spat over the underside of the bonnet and the rockercover.

Sounds like it fried a piston ring, so turbo pressure went into the crank case and blow the dip stick out.

it would pressurise if there was a blocked breather, or more than likely the rings were shot and the boost pressure was going past the rings.
My mate ran his evo 8 out of oil, spunt the crank and he needed a whole new bottom end!
