They changed the brakes over on the new'er updated models on the corsa b, but still only some of them got the new drums. So its a bit hard to order parts for a car when you don't know what is the correct bit.

Im not giving him greif, im just confused to why his friend who works in a parts shop is unable to find out what pad he needed. Surely, its he's job to find out? I doubt he gives out every part it COULD be to all the customers?

Its not turning into an argument. But surely, there are ways of finding out what shoes vauxhall used on each car going by the VIN number or something.

You were just being a cock towards him for no reason at all. All the lad has done is asked a question.
Funny thing is you have no idea what the answer is either

I wouldn't know. I don't work in the industry where i'd need to know.
So i'll just get a job in Currys then and give people a tumble dryer, hair dryer, washing machine and cooker as im sure one of them was built for the purpose of drying cloths.

The lad at the part shop did find out what pad he needed.
The computer gave him two possible shoes simply because vauxhall fitted two diff types to the same model of car.
Either take the shoes with you to match the part or return the one you don't need for a refund.

I work in motor factors and basically you have to go by the list thats given. If you have a choice i usually ring up main dealer with vehicle details and ask them for the measurements they give or alternativley do what doyles mate has done and supply both.

Giving both parts would annoy me as a customer. I wouldn't want to go back to get a refund on a part because they were unable to find the precise part.

Then go to main dealer then...simple, the sole point of a motor factors is a "patented" part you cant expect single manufacturers to come up with main dealer software to find these parts as nobody would bother using them.
Being annoyed as a customer is a personal opinion, its out of our hands if you want to go elsewhere and usually judging by main dealer figures they always come back.

Usually if this happens at the garage we get both in, find out the one needed and the next time the parts guy is in he takes the wrong ones away.
If Doyle was DIY'ing it ( ) he should remove the shoes first and take them down to the motor factors to compare, removing the need to go back for a refund.
