corsa B here, and its not a question based on performance but correct me if i am wrong.
the standard manifold (if thats what you call it) looks like its boxed in of some sort, whether the main part is inside i dont know. mines has became loose and some how it appears one of the bolts have came off which attaches it to the engine (although its still attached, its became slightly loose and it makes a rattling noise sometimes).
ive seen there is another type of manifold which has the pipes rather than being a box thing. are they worth buying at all?
or
i will be changing the front bumper in about 2-3 week so should i just replace the bolt and forget about the replacement?. what size of bolt is needed, does anyone know?

its not a box, its a cover for the manifold, possibly a heatshield or something?

Im assuming you mean the "box" type is in the first pic and the "pipes" are the 2nd pic?
If so, the box in the first pic is a heat sheild, your cat is in the manifold on the 12v, the car with the pipe type manifold has the cat under the car

Just bin it if it's rattling...
The bolt you will be able to get from vaux for a few pence if you do want to keep it!

it seems to make the full exhaust underneath a bit shakey as well, if it had the bolt it wouldnt move.
if the shields removed wouldnt that make it worse?
