long story, short

seat belts knackered, so replacing the hole thing, beed to remove seat to acces the belt tensioner thingy attached to the seat, but one of the torx bolts attaching the seat rails to the car chassis has rounded, any solutions? me and dad tried no end of solutions, wacking different sized sockets, screwdriver bits in etc etc, any ideasm, dont really wanna drill it out

undo the 4 bolts under the seat holding it to the subframe?

they hammer onto the outside - they have a sharp left hand thread, and you go to undo it grips harder onto the bolt and undoes...

i have the same set and use them on rounded out bottom pully bolts

I dont it before, i welded another bolt to the top of it, then undid it. But i work in a garage and had a welder, fire extingushier and fire blankets there, not that i burnt anything though.

if you can use a saw blade above the nut but beneath the chassis of the car, my dad spent 2 hours doing it, problem though is you'll end up making the tea for weeks though

Those bolts are mental to get out sometimes, drill it out or get those irwin things else youll be there for hours!

if you have a handheld dremel at hand, cut a line in the told of the head and then get the longest and biggest flat head screw driver you can find and use that to undo it.

Also, if you apply heat doesnt that loosen it?


I had a similar problem with my torsion bar on my 106.

its ok guys, vauxhall have it under control, for just £70, as my claim to it being a warranty / returns issue is still valid haha, so new seat belt - but i pay the labour

had the same problem but it was with the bolt that holds the seats frame to the floor. the head of the bolt had to be drilled and chizzled off.

id rather not fuck about with a seatbelt, as its slightly more important than other aspects of the car tbh
