Between 21 and 27 north.. Do they work?
coming back from Blackpool lastnight there was roadworks and then I noticed a spec cam, it had a sign below it but I couldn't read it, Slowed right down, I say right down i was only doing 80 indicated so 75 actual.. and the next one had a sign saying they weren't in use.. That was southbound
on the way however I didn't notice any.. Are they there
Are there plans for them all up the m6? They've been doing work between 21 and 18 most nights aswell..

if theres a sign then legally they can't be switched on yet.
same things happening down here to the A12/127 i think. they've already done half of it, now they're doing more
no more late night high speed runs.

"Safety" Camera manufacturers must be laughing when the Govt. is financially stretched.

I fail to see how specs cameras promote safety, if anything they are downright dangerous

How so? Much more effective than a single gatso by the side of a road.

They may be more effective, but when you've got idiots slowing right down to 40 it's dangerous - and your constantly watching your speedo rather than the traffic - hence I think they're ridiculously dangerous - you should be watching the road, not your speedo constantly.

Obviously you have no care what so ever the people carrying the roadworks as you hoon past at 100 leptons.
Where roadwrks are being carrid the specs are there for the safety of the workers numpty.

No, I agree where there are roadworks there need to be cameras and lower speed limits... doesn't take a genius to work out. I just don't agree that specs cameras make driving safer as your busy concentrating on a.) your speedo b.) the idiot in front of you doing 40mph or less because they went past the first camera at well over 70mph
how does this opinion make me a numpty?

I thought you mention in general.
Yes in roadworks they are good, I agree with you though about them on roads where they are just used to control speeds, so that means your not a numpty now.

TBH I've only ever seen that happen a few times. Most just seem to blast up the camera, brake to 50mph then speed up the other side, completely missing the point of average speed
Hardly ever see someone travelling below the limit really.

Thats why they invented cruise control. I use it all time on M1

No I dont think they are on yet.
I was driving though there yesterday and only half the cams are up, some of the yellow poles dont have them on yet, etc. Plus no signs were up anywhere, so I think you're fine.
