When you sold your car to someone, do you give them a receipt?do you make them sign a sold as seen letter?

all private sales are sold as seen... i just photocopy the V5 with their details on. enough for me.

On my car the previous owner Wrote me a little note saying that he has sold it to me for a certain price, with date and mileage etc. In my service history the owner before that seems to have done the same.

yeah- best to do a receipt just to cover you if anything goes wrong.
sold as seen with mileage/date etc and both of you sign 2 copies.

I just sell it and photocopy the V5 incase they get a speeding ticket on the way home.
No point in a receipt as you dont get any legal rights when you buy a car privately
