Took this one as a last minute booking a couple of days back, needless to say though, I've been looking forward to this one immensely!

Only had the day on this one, the brief was to make it look as good as possible inside and out and lay down some decent protection on it. The main aim was to sort out the rear end which had recently seen paintwork and had a few swirls, hologrammes etc in.

Having said this, the car is kept immaculate - it's been worked on by a few of the well known detailers out there already lol. So here's what greeted me this morning on my arrival:

See, I told you it wasn't dirty It got a bit difficult from here to take pics as I was blocking a shared drive to wash the car so I had to knuckle down and crack on!

First up were the wheels, tyres and arches, all with AS G101 and various brushes and rinsed.

Then on to the foaming:

My new custom mix of AS Autowash and Bilt Hamber Autofoam - cleans just as well as a TFR imo! Worked around the badges etc with an Envy brush, then rinsed off. This was when the neighbours decided to kick up a fuss about me blocking the drive so I had to pack up and move out the way So the wash was done with Optimum No Rinse and dried using Elite ultra plush towels and Dodo Time to Dry.

This was when the swirls were starting to show as the car had obviously been covered with filler based products The paintwork felt ultra smooth already. 2 test panels with BH soft clay picked up nothing, so I took the decision to not bother claying the car. I gave the car 2 thorough IPA wipe downs though to remove any excess polish oils and wax from before.

Decided to tackle the rear of the car first as this was the main area requiring attention. Try as I might I couldn't seem to photograph the defects very well as they didn't even show that well through the lens under halogens. Here's the 1 pic I did manage to grab:

The new paintwork was ultra soft (ie. soft enough that even the wrong cloth to buff residue off marked) so correction was carried out via Dodo Lime Prime on a 3M yellow pad. Residue was buffed off with Elite ultra plush buffing towels and a spritz of AS Reglaze:

The new paint also was noticeably more grey, but the Lime Prime restored it's true colour (left corrected!):

The rear bumper was corrected with a small dab of 3M extra fine again on the 3M pad to remove some deeper marks. Unfortunately there was a fair amount of pig tailing still but the bumper was heating up too quickly to be able to correct this fully.

The rest of the car wasn't too bad but had a few light swirls here and there, so I worked around the rest of the car with the same combo of 3M yellow pad and Dodo Lime Prime which knocked out 99% of the swirls and restored the same gloss that the rear now had:

Once the machine work was complete it was time to go straight to LSP. This car has been treated with Zaino in general. I've never ventured into the World of Zaino as yet, but decided to stick with the sealant route and chose a sealant I've used a lot recently and been highly impressed with - Britemax #5 Extreme Elements. 2 coats applied in total an hour apart, left to cure for around 15 minutes each:

Whilst this was curing I set about various "finishing jobs" - exhausts with Britemax, black trim with Aerospace 303, tyres with AS Finish, wheels and calipers sealed with Poorboys wheel sealant etc.

After the 2nd coat of sealant was removed, I moved on to the interior. Hoovered, leather cleaned and conditioned with Nielsens Leather Lux (a new AIO product I'm trying out atm) Interior finished:

Back to the outside to finish off; glass with Nielsens Blue Window Clean II and a final wipe down / coat of sealant with Dodo Red Mist to leave the following and a quick wipe down of door shuts with AS Reglaze and the same for the immaculate engine bay:

The end results:

And the "money shots" for me:

Overall a very enjoyable day for me today!

Comments, constructive criticism and questions welcome as per usual! :thumb:

Nice work.

I've always loved the 612. I thought they were horrible until my neighbour got one, and when i saw it in the flash, i fell in love.
Its very subtle and understated for a Ferrari.

Thanks y'all!

I have to say I'm not totally taken by the 612, it's a nice car but just not sure on it's looks! The wheels were the ones I hoped it wouldn't have too lol - looks far better on the "other" ones.

Cheers mate And no it's not (that I'm aware of anyway!) I think I know the one you're thinking of though tbh as there was one similar there a while ago.
