Car failed MOT on a few things sorted them all except for my springs being loose in the shocks
(Only temporary till I get new shocks and springs, but I wanted to get car on the road first.P)
So I have cable tied the bottom and top of the spring to the spring cup.
So what does everyone reckon the MOT tester will say about my pikey bodge?

Car has been fine with the springs loose for the last year and the car I had before had the same setup.
A mates car has passed like that before. Im predicting a fail though.

Yes it may be safe when the weight is on them but they are tested with the suspension hanging so will still be loose and deemed unsafe, the way they see it is if you go over a big bump they could fall out.

But when the wheel is hanging loose now its all secure the spring doesn't move.
It will probably fail on emissions again anyway.

Doesnt take much for a cable tie to snap though it may well pass but tbh it really shouldnt

Why are people happily willing to drive cars that the springs can fall out of?

the springs wont "fall out" they are just slightly loose.
It passed on them anyway, just failed on the Lambda reading.
