Depends what you want it for, if your going to run and keep it a cat D is worth the same as a regular one to you. But if its to sell on accident register normally knocks a 5th to a quarter off its normal market value.

It's not worth the same, the insurance won't pay out as much so if you crash it and when you come to sell it at any point it's not worth as much.

Don't pay over 2/3 of a non crashed one.

I bought a cat c celica for 3k cheaper than they were going for at the time. when I came to sell no one wanted it. managed to swap it for a golf but i'll never buy an accident damage repaired car again, too much hassle.

As much as it seems a good idea at the time i could never drive around in a damaged repaired car I couldn't be doing with the hassle when selling it.

Don't get me wrong i really liked most of the car when i drove one..The interior/seats..the gearshift position and the quality of the shift itself and the looks but all this VTEC bullshit I drove it on a straight road up through all the gears right into 5th and when i hit the supposed VTEC zone fuk all happend! It just made a bit more noise I'd have one with a supercharger or maybe a VTEC controller if that makes much difference?

VTEC controller only lets you adjust when it 'kicks' in.
