I got a spare engine in the shed and want to get it completely rebuilt... all bearings seals and gaskets valves ect ect. where is the best place to get all the parts??

Not to be cheeky, but why? Couldn't you probably get a decent running one for about the cost of the parts needed for a rebuild?

I got the engine for penny's so just thought i'd have a go doing it by myself and i just want a mint 1400 which i know is mint. if u know what i mean.

get it bored to a 1.6 and then go about doing headwork on it to..

a lot of peeps dont see the point of rebuilding engines they just stick them in and when they go bang they get another one. autovaux do almost everything you'll need and there was a post on here a few months back about a parts company that do all the valves, guides, seals, gaskets and what not for relativly cheep.

and alan some peeps like the idea of rebuilding a old engine even to its going to cost a few bob

there site is pants it never has anything on there which is a pain.. best bet is to call them up they are a nice bunch of guys and i got a set of wheel bearings for my b, ordered yesterday and they arived today so not bad and they normaly have a few bits instock
