Hi all, been offered a show cage off a mate, it came in his car when he bought it. His was stripped out but I have rear seats and want to keep them.
His is a sunroof model, and so is mine. In his car it was only fastened at one point near the top and moved about.
He wants £100 for it, should I buy it? Do they go in with a full interior still there?
Any pics of anyone elses please?
Any info much appreciated, cheers

Pointless - increased insurance premium and not extra safe.

sounds cool! you should get those fake rear discs to go with it, and maybe some non fuctioning stick on bonnet vents to complete the look.
in all seriousness dont bother. why anyone would want a fake rol cage is beyond me.

haha, might just do that!
I dunno really, they can look goodI think, thats purely all it would be for, the look, as I don't do track days or anything. All against then? lol.
I'm like 50/50 on getting it, thats why I asked for opinions

I have to admit, I do think they look alright - better off with a proper cage mind you, but nevertheless still look good IMO.

is it a bolt in one? (into arches/floorpan) or attached to seat belt points? and really wouldnt keep back seats if it was a full rear one.

if you want 'the look' - get on ebay and fnd a 2nd hand bolt in rear half. at least it will actually serve a purpose.
i honestly cant think of on ereason to spend 100 sheets on a show cage that does nothing but make people laugh at you.

It's one that fastens to seatbelt points I think mate. I don't think I'm gonna bother tbh, this thread has made up my mind! lol

Not for me personally.
I would put that 100 smackers towards a proper cage myself.

all depends what you do with the car..if you just drive round in it and use the car daily the dont waste your money kid... If you show the car to the extent of winning trophy's as I do and its your second car then ok. If your planning on doing alot of track days then buy a real one. Each to there own imo mate

BOLLOCKS
there is no proof ANYWHERE to support these stupid claims
If there is then please show me
Bottom line its for show only, hence the name SHOWcage, its no worse than someone with a 1.2 corsa fitting a big exhaust for performance gains, its more than likely its just for show and noise rather than performance.
