They look outrageously good without the bumpers. Do it Koo.
Stop it. I've just managed to convinced myself its not a good idea
I do slightly love the car, but i'd rather wait for a white one.
I know its historically incorrect, but i'd love a white Mk2 with Martini style livery. Or maybe Gulf colours
Edit: Oh my god!!! An RS2000 with extreme style X-pack (jr- help, what kit is that?) in gulf colours.
I now have a goal in life!!!

Yeah, i spotted that on PH a few days ago.
It sounds a bit mental With 618bhp, i don't think it would be very useable day to day.

40's not a bit too small for these engines? Most people that had these engines when my dad used to race few years back had 45's minimum or 48's.
I'd have a 2 door one with a pinto but not sure on the 4 door.

people say 4doors are shite, bla bla bla, there not. my mate rallies a 2door mk2 esc and won rallyx last year and rally year before. he said benefit of 4doors are...easy access to back seat area and abit more weight over the arse end that would help traction wise.
fair enough a 2door looks a lot nicer but 4doors arent as bad as what people think. im gutted i sold my mk1 4door as i was offered a mega spec cossy, t5 and a babyatlas needing a dif for £3k. ive spent twice that on my xe for my corsa now. and i could of had a sleeper 4door mk1 that looked bog stock just on its arse on rs4 spokes and a 420bho yb in it.....what a dick i was!
They also have a dirty great B pillar in the middle of each side of the car so cope far better than a 2 door in a side impact Phil.
One of the current crop of old Ford mags (Classic/Retro Ford, Ford Heritage or similar) presently have a gold 4 door 1600 Ghia in their line up, as a project car. It's called project Goldmember and is known as either Mordor or More Door.

I bought a 70's car a few years back.
It rusted from the inside out over three years and in the end was totally shot.
When it was beyond repair (economically welding wise) it looked immaculate and ran near perfect.
Never again.
If you've got the £££ and know how/ability to keep something like that running then do it - if not steer clear or use it as a second car that will rot/fall apart from non use and you can tinker with it as a hobby...
