Hi guys I found a nice corsa C on autotrader for 1,300 the cheapest ive seen so far, however the mileage was 105,000 which is quite a lot,

Is mileage an important thing cause some people have told me not to go for it cause the high milage.

thanks

My Dad has had his Corsa C from new, done 110k miles and nothings gone wrong with it. It just depends how its been driven.

My B 1.4 16v has nearly 123k on the clock and i'd put money on it running just as well if not better than most cars with half the milage.

TBH if it's got service history and doesnt use any oil or water id happily buy it. Higer milage means it will have had a timing belt recently and most likely a head gasket.

Plus you'll get it cheaper.

What year is the C?

If it's pre 2004 (which it will be at that price) take it for a test drive and check that you can enguage 1st and 2nd gear without any trouble.

They have a habit of chewing the plastic selector arms up but there is a metal replacement available for around £100.

which engine is it? 1.0 or 1.2? and 1300 is rather cheap for C, even with that milleage... if the car is in good condition i'd go for it!

It's not just no history, I've bought a car with no history, I knew what I was looking for though and it didn't have 100k miles.

A car with 100k miles and no history probably hasn't been serviced since 10k tbh.

If you are on here asking you don't know enough to spot it so it's a much safer bet to walk away.

Also the seller sounds shadey. If I knew my car had lots of service history, but I lost the book, I'd be going right to the dealers and getting proof of SH. The fact he hasn't done that, even though he's trying to sell it, means he's talkin pish.

Agree, I bought a Clio 172 with full service history and 50k miles and it was a dog, must of had the hardest life ever, enjoyed it for a bit, tidied it up and sold it on for a profit.

If you lost your SH book and didn't even bother to try and get a replacement before putting it up for sale, then that's a schoolboy error on your behalf

Aye I know what you mean mate, but my point was... IF you lost it, and still were unaware you could get a new one, you'd at least try to look into the possibilities of finding the history, instead of accepting it as fate, but still saying it has SH

Right... I get your point now, I would just put it up for sale and not mention it has or hasnt got any, dont see the point in saying yeh its got FSH from main dealer, but I havent got the book with all the stamps and the proof
