You don't need a dump valve. In fact, without a lot of fucking around it's very difficult to have one - especially as they serve no purpose on a TD.

Dump valve reduces performance on a td engine. td's actually produce boost at idle, so putting in a dv only slows them down.

You don't understand how diesels work do you.
How does a dump valve that's attached to a brake (or some other) vacuum pipe slow the car down?

Stops the turbo from producing boost for no reason.

How?
On a diesel it's connected to a vacuum pipe with an electric solenoid and normally a switch under the clutch pedal so it 'dumps' when you change gear.

Yeah I was under the impression that you cant fit a real DV to a diesel due to there being no throttle plate to be closed

A dump valve is used to prevent the compressor on a turbo from stalling when the throttle is closed. A TD doesn't need that to happen so you're dumping boost for no reason; so when the DV closes again the turbo has to re-pressurise the intercooler, boost pipes and manifold again reducing efficiency.
