Ive got a 1.6 sport, Ive done 2 miles in it and I didn't have to put any petrol in it.
Not use really but insurance wise, Im nearly 19 with a years no claims and it costs me 1100 to insure fully comp. so Im guessing it will be a atleast for you with a 1.4 sport as Im guessing you havent got any years ncb.

Well for the past 6 months I have been driving my dads company car.. will that lower the cost?
How much would you say I will be looking at for insurance? I really want to pay it in one go to get it out of the way.

400 miles to a tank. I think i did that once driving at 70 all the way through belgium, holland etc where it is perfectly flat and no traffic. On englands motorways doing the same thing i struggled to see much over 300.

It's funny you should say that, my brother has a 1.4 with a cone filter and a backbox and it's only a little bit slower than mine

I had a 1.6, it was absolutely shit on petrol. I've found the 2.0's i've had are better?
300 miles to a tank, but thats full on careful driving. Had to do it once on way home from London.

I got slated a couple of years ago for saying this. I know it defies logic, but i had a 1.4 pre factlift with decatted exhaust and induction kit, and a 1.6 facelift with Cone filter couldnt pull on me, and we had 'proper' racers about 6 - 7 times on the same stretch of private dual carridge way.

I have a 1.4 sport, had it about 6 weeks, had a 12v before that, used to get like 350 miles to a tank in my 12v, driving it hard. Now I'm lucky if I get 250 to a tank in my sport, but that isn't driving like my grandad on a Sunday though.
