This is mainly to anybody who has driven one or owns one currently. What are the good/bad points, am I better off just sticking with my C? Considering getting a 1.4 sxi, but i'm still not 100% on them myself.

They feel like a bubble. Probably handle like one too. ( a 1.2 sxi is the one i drove)
Not really it was a nice car i suppose, if all you do it drive at walking pace around town.
It you like to give a car abit of throttle and nimbleness around the bends, look elsewhere.
Saying that, a friend from work has a 1.6 t sri, and that seems to pull quiet nice, and doesnt seem as wollolololy, as you would expect being the sportier model.
TBH, its only worth having the SRI turbo or the VXR imo
But horses for courses.....

Nice cars, I'd get one of the diesels over a 1.4 though, the small petrol's aren't very good.

Im learning to drive in the 1.4(dunno spec), it's pretty boring and basic but it does the job of putting up with learners lol.

1.3 Diesel (90) all that way.
Add a DTUK box and your seeing 120-130 bhp and well over 160 lb/ft of torque

I've driven VXR and a 1.3CDTi versions, they are a nice car to drive don't get me wrong, with good potential, but I can't help thinking there are better cars out there for the money. It took my uncle 2months to get a replacement mirror and wing for his vxr when some bus smashed into it, had to be shipped in from Germany... he had it not long after they started selling them over here mind so I expect things are easier to get hold of now.

I looked around at the competitors, 500's you need to wait to get one from factory and I didn't think they were that good tbh.
Punto interiors are terrible, suzuki swifts aren't bad, what else is there in that size/price bracket?

My mum has a 1.2 16v one. Engine wise its complete gash, but its really easy to drive, nice visibility and the interior seems half decent. I test drove a VXR and the only thing i didnt like was the way it looked.

ok now heres the truth, there a good car, but if a you want a car thats fast and grips the road really well that its not the car at all, no 1.4 will be!and people say get the vxr is easier said than done for some people, like insurance etc.
also coming from people who said i have test drove one, well unless the jeremy clarkson then what they is pretty useless, you need to hear from someone who has owned or currently owns one.
overall there good cars, petrol aint to bad on them nor is insurance, plus vauxhall are giving some great deals on new ones.
but as for second hand ones, i would look for ones with added packs like the sri add ons or the 17" alloys.

I get told by many people i resemble clarkson.
And im sorry, but if you have driven one, you get a feel for what they are like so how is this usless information?
You just dont like it because someone slated your car. FACT

i had one for a few after an accident...bored me to death like most new cars...felt like a bubble and handled like one too...depends what u want from a car...if u want to be cocooned in a quiet and safe bubble that doesnt feel like a "real" car then its all good i wud go for B or C with more power if anythin if staying with vaux

i own one as a daily drive. I find it quite comfortable. bought it with 15" alloys and upgraded to 17s after 2 months. never regretted it. made the ride abit harsher yes, but handles better. 1.4 engine is quite nippy around town (11sec to 62mph) and economical.
I previously owned a corsa b, corsa c (for a small time) and Skoda fabia 1.4mpi and for me the corsa is the best allrounder i ever had.
this is mine:

more pic in my garage.
