know this is the wrong place but i want to go out and fit them now .if i wire a ciggarette lighter to the interior light wiring will i beable to run 12v neons from the lighter socket.i wan them to cum on wen you open the door ,like the interior light would have done .

wired them up but now neon glow,what are the red and grey wires in the interior light .red is live i think ,but what is grey ,is it earth.the original cig lighter wiring was a brown (live) and black Earth i believe ,Any ideas,where have i gone wrong

cummon peeps ,im begining to think that the grey aint an earth ,because how does the light know when the door is open .is the redwire for the interior light a permanent live feed and the grey completes the circuit or is red wire just a live wen the doors are open .
plz help me cars all striped down .

lol@ tom ,already blown the fuse for the interior light once ,and had to replace it .

dnt know what did blow the fuse mate.LOLall i now is that everything is fine but the damn neons wont work and i know its not the fuse cus ive quecked.really do think now that the grey wire aint an earth .

grey wires go to the little spring things the pop open wen you open the door.so they are not an earth so i need to get some earth wire and earth it me self .the red and grey together turn the light on ,well this is waht ithink now .any ideas peeps

y not just wire the neons to the door switches rather than connecting the lighter to the interior light and then pluging the neons in????????
If you ever get it workin the above way u wont beable to spark up a tab unless u open your door!!!!!!
