These cars have just gone very near the top of my potential new car list.

I had a few as company cars. Fuel wasn't great.
People bang on about the oil but to be honest you really don't need to top it up that often and when you do it's a 2 minute job. Buy it in a large bottle and it'll save you a bit of money.
Start it up properly and turning off the engine correctly is very easy to do and will help. People complain that they can't get them to start but they just haven't followed the instructions.
I thought they were great fun! A lot of car for the money you can pick them up for these days.

I had one for 6 months, sold it in the end lost a bit money on it, no one wants them as they are VERY juicy! Depends on how you drive it, sepdn every other day in the petrol station around town driving I think I was getting 10-17mpg and used allot of oil to.
But lush cars to drive, comfortable and get 4 people in no worries

7 or 8, which is better? 7's seem to cost the same as 8's even though they are a lot older

I loved the 8 more modern, more every day friendly, but the 7 being a turbo are quicker and still great looking cars!

Ohhh, so the 8's are n/a. Didn't even consider that...
But I doubt they weight much so they can't be that shy with 200bhp odd..

7s are more powerful, better looking and rarer.
8s are more practical, supposedly better handling and have better quality interior.
Aside from the porting and induction methods, it's essentially the same engine. Although you can relax in an 8 as the 6 speed box is better than the 5 in the 7 on motorways and you're not on edge all the time about that second turbo catching you out when it's greasy
I'd rather have a 7 over an 8 any day though.

Could you stick the engine out of the 7 into an 8?
Are the 8's RWD?
Can you get a turbo kit for the 8?

Yes. But they're heavier so it's not going to be instantly as fast as a 7.
Yes.
Yes. Or supercharger. Or both.
