I'll take you back to decemeber the 17th 2005, at brands for a mates trackday, and clock this rough but somehow menacing looking golf in the paddock

looks nice but with the radicals, caterhams and gt3's not alot of people gave it a look in tbh, after a while it was the golf 1st session, and in 15 years+ of going to brands ive never been so shocked at the noise/pace/stupidness of any car like this, and the fact it was driven there
after chatting to a older guy (who i now know was maurice) who was the owner we came to the conclusion it weighed around 850-900kg ? and around 380bhp, loads of track days later never saw the car again, but wondered who had it, and thought about doing some more reserch on it but never did
Willay sent me a link this morning
http://www.clubgti.com/forum/showthread.php?t=97945
which shows it in its new state, and it abusing spa, safe to say i think its a bit better

and the vid of it ripping up spa, looks slow as IMo the car is so composed

ALSO
worth watching this thread, shows the battle between the golf and a race prep a4 at combe, where he crashes the car due to brakes failing.

I remember a car like this when Bedford first opened.
Mk1 Orange golf with a turbocharged engine, black 15"s, slicks, an oil cooler balf the car width, and IC the whole car width. (Bonnet was closed, couldn't see engine, just the coolers!!! enough to know, it wasn't slow..)
First pic I thought it was the same car. I saw my one around 2002/2003 era (whenever the Redline Supra had its bodykit, 19"s, but not the Castrol Sticker kit).
needless to say it really was showing up porsches, caterhams etc. It was a feckin missile. I saw a small shot or two of it in Redline not long after.
Wonder if its the same car?

Mazin car.
The crash at Combe is a nasty one, must be the worst feeling in the world going that fast, pressing the brake and nothing happening
