Yes 50mpg is achievable, but that is on long motorway runs taking it easy. 40 - 45mpg is a bit more realistic.
I've never let the red light come on on mine, but the emptiest I've filled up on was 370miles which costs between £30 and £35 to fill. I think it has a 42litre tank or something like that.
The sensors on mine have never gone wrong and they won't if you get a good example then look after it.
Top speed is about 95mph but that is horrible. It will sit at 70mph no problem but then it has no go for overtaking. I tend to sit with the needle vertical, so about 65mph which gives you a bit more for overtaking.
Depending on what your budget is it'll probably pay to get a Corsa C 12v as it'll be in better condition.

my brothers is stupidly economical, even when thrashing it (you have to to get anywhere) it's far from quick but it's alot of fun to drive! It will also sit at 70mph no problem... Until you start going up hill haha

Going up a hill to Uni which has a crawler lane will lose 10mph no matter the speed at the bottom of the hill

the 12v are very good on fuel, i dont about 100mile on £10 and i was thrashing it every now and then. mine will sit and 80mph-90mph all day long, and as for them being flat out at 95mph, mine does 92mph in 4th gear and had it to 114mph (private road and yes i kno that the speedo will be out)

My little 1.0 is sooo economical Last week I did 70 miles on £5 and a few weeks before that I managed 130 miles to £10 it just keeps going lol!
Mine will sit at 70 on the motorway no problem, but I tend to drive about 60ish so my ears dont start bleeding.
