anyone know about chips in ecu's?

ive just opened 2 PT xe ecu's and the chips were different

one just looked standard and the other had a chip on top of the original chip with this code on it

INTERPRO 16v7370.019

can any1 shed any light on this?

well i dont know if this is any help but there is a dyno station and tuning place down here in bristol called interpro??

Yea theres a tuning place round the corner from me called interpro, its in thornbury near bristol. They have a rolling road and do mapping although i mainly see jap stuff and cossies there

phoned them and they said its a high compression chip?

how can a chip make high compression?

that chip on top of the other is just a standard one

Agreed, I thought the only way to change compression was by physically changing the size of the pistons or similair, like the gap between the head and the block, as in taking a big skim or similair. Not too sure on that stuff though.

Anyone able to confirm if they're talking jobby?

It could be a chip for higher compression pistons. Though I haven't heard of people raising the compression of an engine without doing other things to the engine as well.

piggy backed, the engine that ecu came off of must of had a bit of work done and had a higher compression so they went and got a re mapable chip to be piggy backed onto the standard one.. its fairly common to se being done..
