Hi all..

Looking at HIDs on the bay. most are single beam only. I drive a corsa so both beams are in one bulb. Is this a good idea??

Does it mean it has one beam and cannot change to full beam. Or does it have two beams, dipped HID and main beam normal light??

Cheers

You can buy H4 Hi/Lo kits which have a sliding shield for dipped and main or 2 filaments for dipped and main. Just don't buy the single element ones otherwise you'll lose main beam

I did on 2 out of 3 sets. Both worked fine. I've got 6K Hi/Lo H4's in my van and they work fine (Hong Kong's finest lol)

Also got a set of 4300k H7's from Hong Kong, again worked fine but not in the car anymore so need to shift them lol.

It is the H4 bi-xenons that you are looking at. I can do H4's in any colour for £80 delivered. http://www.corsasport.co.uk/board/viewthread.php?tid=486341 These are the slim ballast kits so better quality and easyer to mount in the engine bay.

Just a heads up, DO NOT fit xenons as main beams as an upgrade. You will lose the ability to flash properly as they have a warm up time of a few seconds. In most modern cars with xenons as standard they have 2 ways to put main beam on. If the lights are already on, they move a flap to direct the light out in a main beam pattern, but if they are off and you flash the lights then it uses a halogen.

I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.
