Golf TDi is practically the same car as mine - plus it's bigger, slower and gets less MPG

Ahh I see - didn't know that! Golf is a good car, like I said I don't see the point of it if only one person is gunna rock around in it 99% of the time.

if you chose a golf your not getting that far away from an ibiza though are you? you would get a nice 1.6/1.8 petrol mk4 astra with your money, they arnt bad on fuel but at the same time have a little bit of poke.

You will get a dog GT TDI for 3k I think.

Seat TDI would get you more value for money.

How about a Corsa C CDTI?

3k would get you the likes of a 55 plate Clio, Corsa, Fiesta etc. I think to get something with decent miles and a bit bigger you need to spend a bit more.
