Yep, see word from the man in the know.

The VXR new takes a hefty drop if you paid full whack, but they are holding their own still.

Good condition 20k mileage 55 plate VXR's are still selling for 11k.

If you look at the Megane R26 they are VERY cheap and loosing their value very fast which is very strange. They are an absolute bargain IMO.

You might find this interesting....
these are not my values, but that of an industry data source; values are forecasting a value when the car is 3 years old and 60k miles.

VXR - £6225
ST - £5875
R26R - £4625
GOLF GTI - £10300

List prices and desirability, reliability and practicality aside - they are all similar cars if you were considering one, you would consider the other etc...

I bought my VXR a couple of weeks back and loved every second of it. Personally I paid £10.5k delivered for a late '56' plate in Arden with 19s, bluetooth, cruise control, glovebox aircon etc with 22k miles on the clock. Its all about waiting for the right one and trying your luck with a cheeky offer. You'll have to pay around £500 extra for an arden compared to a similarly spec in another colour (excluding burg) because its the most popular choice. Burgs can be picked up for £15k ish at the moment but personally prefer Arden. In terms of future value im not too worried. The GSi has held its value very well until quite recently so would expect the VXR to be as good or maybe better.
