I always wounder why a car that cross's the line at at faster speed could do a slower time. Pecks my head

reaction times don't count on you're times, only at like totb when you have to beat the person!

i'm a tad baffled by some of my read outs too, prob just one bad gear change, not getting the full out of each gear can make any number of difference!

Yer could have a good start but hit the limtier near the end, but you have already made good progress from the start so it doesnt really matter

Its like you started off slow due to traction issues and half way up the track you picked up better speed and crossed the line at a much faster rate. If it was a half mile race due to the faster rate you picked up you would obviously cross the line faster.

Dave bulls old Micra was a prime example of that. Shit start but huge terminal speed once it got going.

Higher terminal speed = quicker time assumes that you have a constant rate of acceleration every run, it won't work out like that.

Acceleration will vary between runs so at different points you'll be acceelerating at different rates and this will change every run.

all down too the launch and grip. 4wd cars tend to have a slower et speed buh quicker time. Were as powerful fwd cars power through to a good et but can't launch like a 4wd/rwd.

I got some baffling times that I just put down to dodgy timing gear in the end.

How the hell can I do 13.27 at 87mph is beyond me

but if tis down to grip, then surely the run with the quicker terminal is a run with more grip? and a slower terminal isnt, as your not accelerating due to spinning?

You've kinda answered your own question there big chap, because you missed all the gear changes you slowed right down during the run but you managed to pick up alot of speed mid run which resulted in you crossing the line at a high speed but slow time due to the time lost in the middle

and I thought that me having one of the first 2ltr 16v conversions was cooooool and all that came out of me showing the pics was that FOOKIN CABLE

Have you tried 2nd gear launches or would that destroy the clutch??? I take it your using R888 or like tyres???

I really need to have a wee go in it. Always wanted a shot in a big power car and yours bein as near as dammit to 500bhp thats fookin powerful lol

it has yoko a048rs now. they have 32psi in them and grip as good as the toyo's did with 10psi in. odd or what. although technically for now the car is dead (someone poured stones and gravel etc into the engine) so its probably not going to get a run up the strip for a while.

if your ever at crail. i know what you look like as your rodney trotter, so dive over and jump in.
