Its a Vauxhall, it was built like that

Dont worry, my Astra has this weird buzzing sound coming from somewhere behind the dashboard, my missus has a brilliant technique for getting rid of it though - just turn up the stereo

It was that particular tactic of hers that meant she didnt notice the bottom end starting to eat itself in my old SRi Corsa

Did you not just twist it round to stop the end hitting the beam?

Yeah but it still did it, in the end just bashed the backbox on further and moved the clamp further around.

it never seems to rattle as much when it's just been cleaned

i feel like it does it on purpose, and when i clean it, it is then happy and stops rattling

Loud stereo is a corsa's best friend.

Mine isnt to bad though tbh which is surprising considering how many times its been taken apart,

fully stripped interior makes the rattles 100times worse.
i cant hear something in my tailgate, each shock absorber when it compresses, fuel pump, something in each rear 1/4... everything has its own noise.
