I'm a mechanical engineering apprentice and I took in 1 payslip, told the guy behind the counter I worked at the on-site garage as a mechanic (bullshit) and he gave me a form to fill out for it.
Half price spark plugs + wipers FTW.

Friend of mine was a taxi driver and he got a trade card just by going in saying he was a mechanic. No pay slips or invoices just his word and the name of the garage he supposedly worked at.

if you work in the motor trade and you have a payslip most of the time at the managers decression you can have a trade card, same if your at college studying the motor trade or apprentice.
its really worth it such as corsa wiper blades work out at under £5 and on the shelf its around £15.
halfords still make profit even when your using trade.

Aye, it's well worth trying to wing it. If they say no then you've not lost anything.

Things like oil works out around half price
Iv got that halfords socket set, bought it last xmas with my trade card. With the trade card it was £100 I think
I got a trade card by going in with a boilersuit on and saying I worked at the garage along the road. No proof needed. That was just luck though, if it didn't work I was going to go in with a wad of dingbro receipts that we have

I'm pretty sure I don't get half price oil from Halfords. I went in to get a bottle of Mobil 1 super shiznae because a mate wanted to use the discount. It brought it down from about £50 to £40 or something. And with the price of their oil I know other places I can get it cheaper than even when using the card.
