hey guys, i give my car a bit of stick last nite and my speedo cable snapped. but thas not all. now my engine manegment light is on and if i put my foot down and park up my car idles at about 500rpm. any1 got any ideas? its a c16xe gsi

you may find it cuts out from time to time aswell.

trying not to state the obvious, but the cable needs replacing

well that avnt occured yet. do u know wa it could be? im guessin idle control valve or maf sensor.

first off replace the speedo cable then go from there if the problem still occurs, whoever replaces it will be able to tell you whats up

could be idle control, could be afm etc etc, could just be the speedo cable

well i had speed sender problems with my x16 and had exactly the same symptoms as you.

it will just be the cable, try help zone if you want more clarification.
