Had our 3rd race of the season at Mallory Park on Sunday. Effectively our 'home' circuit as we do a lot of testing there. Last two years at Mallory have been pretty unlucky for us - both outings have seen the car come home with some hefty damage!

It was me and my boss driving this weekend, he was standing in for the other student who couldn't make it this weekend. Still using the standard engine, but hopefully not for much longer as we have the go ahead to get some new conrods

Qualifying went ok, I had problems with the gear linkage and couldn't get 2nd for the hairpin, or sometimes even any gear! Qualified 14th out of 24 - not too bad!

My boss started the race, had a good start and made a few places and was soon in a few battles! Got hit up the inside at the hairpin and that caved the door in He was battling with an Integra up to the pitstop so I was hoping we'd get the jump on him with our driver change.

Unfortunately with the door being caved in we couldn't open it Normally we have two guys helping with the belts from either side so this time we only had one, and I ended up sitting on one of the belts and couldn't find it

Took longer in the pits than the Integra so we lost out there, and the 2nd driver of that car was a bit faster so he started pulling away. Spent the rest of the race fending off a little 106, but towards the end I gained a couple of seconds on through traffic.

All in all it was a good race with lots of action and we ended up 8th

Got some in-car footage aswell so shall upload that later once I've edited it.

How'd you find this compared to the Nippon. A lot closer?

Impreza is away getting its cage welded in now so hopefully wont be long before i finally get set and organise doing my ARDS.

It was a lot closer this weekend due to the nature of the track.

Its hard to say with the Nippon, last year with Evo we were up fighting at the front. But we haven't had a competitive race with the Impreza due to problems. I'd say as long as you have 300bhp+ you should be seeing some action!

We got it when they were being made in Coventry. It just happened to be a left hand drive.

I'd be aiming for the GT300 class, so hopefully just bang on 299.99bhp

Can't really say, in the race we have done we had no rear brakes, no clutch and no 4th gear
