it turns in well enough, doesn't feel like its gripping, but it is,

in a straight line theres a light spot in the centre, but it is turning the wheels.

its just really light

and the whole setup lacks feel, no feedback at all, it handle's well enough, but doesnt feel it.

any suggestions?

or anyone know where i can get a corsa quick rack?

Have you got power steering on it. One of my XE's had horrible steering due to the pump working too hard and making it overly light. You could try a bigger pulley or if its electric stick a resistor in..

no PS as far as i'm aware.... or it should'nt have at least

It's def going to be the geometry. Any place that will check alignment can add/take away toe.

I cant remember the geo settings i had on it, but when i first got the car back from LeeM it was as you described. A very light dead zone in the middle, felt like driving on ice.

Went and got the alignment/toe etc check and it was out.

That fixed it up.

Googe the subject matter for a bit of background on desired geometry settings

I was running a quick rack (brand new), new rod ends, new column, new UJ and the steering felt really bad cornering at speed, always felt like I was fighting with the car (which I was)... I've fitted EPS with the speedo feed so it adjusts the assitance for speed and I love it! Its transformed the car.
