Bought an '88 Astra GTE a couple of days ago and sold my Corsa Sport. What sort of performnce upgrades would you folks recommend which are cheapish and effective?

Also have wheels to paint and rust to sort so dont have a huge amount of money. It is completly standard aprt from a backbox, and its lowered 60mm.

Cheers

If you're on a tight budget, not much. You could start by changing the filters, oil, plugs etc to make it run a bit better.

That could be an idea. The guy I bought it off told me it had been serviced recently, but no proof so....

Depends where you get them from, iv seen them as cheap as £70, plus say £100 for a manifold to fit them, then however much spark only is, about 170 to 180bhp if I remember.
