no point in getting an elite tbh the only difference now is its 120gig harddrive the other are 60gb, but you would be hard pushed to fill that any way unless you put a lot of games on there, and the fact it has a black case.
just get a premium, unless you really want the black colour.

na they still go bugger up, most of the newer consoles dont suffer as much as the older ones, my new premium has been going well for 5 month now.

if you get the Jasper SKU then it will be red ring free.
if you pop into game/gamestation they _should_ let you see the box of the console you have so you can choose
google it so you know what your looking for on the box
