This week I parked my cup outside my flat at uni, unfortunately my spot is situated nicely under a tree and after a week it was covered in bird s**t! Only had the chance today to wash it and some of the stuff was really really stuck on there, after really going at it I got it all off, but... Now my paintwork is a bit fubared, its clearly eaten at the paintwork and on top of that I have light scratches where I have used to much force to get it off! Tried polishing the car which removed most of the scratches but im still left with these gash marks where the bird poo was all over the car!! Dont know what to do... Im a reet perfectionist and the car was mint when I bought it before. Is clio paintwork really this bad. I cleaned my old rallye track car once in a whole year and never had this problem. Really annoyed about it.

 Basically, from your description, by hand you won't rectify it.
Bird etchings usually require machine polishing out and in some cases wet sanding, and the worst case scenarios, full correction / removal cannot be achieved, but this is usually over a longer period than a week.
What polishes have you tried? Any photo's so I know I've understood your description right?

I dont have photos at the moment mate.You can only tell in the right light, but you can feel it when you run your hand over it and polish has literally no effect. It was just autoglymn polish, Nothing special I dont think. Im so so rubbish at cleaning cars.

Get me some photos and I'll be able to advise further, but sounds like the birds had had a good curry that week and left some pretty potent stuff on ur car and has unfortunately etched into the lacquer already 
Only other thing I'd say to try is G3 which I wouldn't normally suggest as imo it's lethal stuff - rub too hard and you really will fook the paintwork.

Did you not wax the car when you picked it up as this would of proteted the paint sufficiently!
If you come accross bird crap again just get a tissue and put some shampoo and water onto it and place it on the spot and leave it to soften it. After 20 mins it should just wipe off.
If your wax your car more often it will just wipe off.

normally if you have it lying on there for only a week you will be fine but those pics up there are from a car thats had it on longer than a week.
like said by hand its really hard to get rid of them, may need to pop to a local bodyshop to see if they can machine them out for you and may require them to flat with p2000 and them polish up.

I didnt wax it no, admittedly im awful when it comes to washing cars. But Graeme im pretty sure its worse than above, and its only been a few days! I would take it to a bodyshop but they are all cowboys round here, iid much rather get someone like Rich with experience to go at it.

Rich you cant be far from me in Epsom? We should talk business. Sod going at it with G3 myself, all I ever do is mess cars up when I try and clean them!!

Yeh that definitely will need flatting and machining mate
And no, just looked it up on Google Maps - an hour to Epsom and only 5 miles out my f.o.c travelling zone. You have a u2u coming your way

mine has these marks like this on the roof, it stood for a few weeks and a bloke round the back keeps pigeons
