it all depends on if you have declared the mods, technically if you have then when they pay out for it they should be paying for them too

shouldnt you be finding sales adds for simular cars to send to them to prove that your car worth more? dunno why your getting someone else to speak to them its up to you to prove that its worth more.

BarnshaW yep the alarm was declaired im going to call the company i bought it off to send me the origenal price and fitting charges.
and davieslim i have been looking online and in auto trader found a GLS in the mag 97 reg 57k and a auto going for £1,350 and have pulled a few off the net for info.
now it they can buy me a GLS with imaculate interior, very good body work (no dents at all) and a sound 70k engine with the same alarm system for the price they are offering me then i'll take it.. but its a nigh on imposable task

all you have to do is contact them and say your not happy with the ammount there offering, prove that there ammount wont buy you a car thesame ie the other for sale adds, if its got a full history make sure they know that, basically make them aware of he fact there moneys worth fuck all in your eyes
oh and make sure theadds you find are for the same car and not something newer lol

They offered my brother £3k for his Supra which he'd paid £6k for about 9 months earlier, when he rejected it, they came back with an offer of... £3k, and that was final

Reject the first and second offers, usually the third is the best one they will give you. accept that or they might just go back to the first one and you will wish you wasnt so greedy then.
Also, if the car is on your drive your allowed to remove any personal belongings or upgrades as long as the standard parts are returned. The car is your property untill you have been paid out so dont let it go anywhere untill you have been paid up in full.
If the damage isnt that bad, id also ask how much they would want if you kept the car, as you could keep the car, get a payout then repair it for peanuts and it wouldnt go on the accident rtegister and you could have some extra cash in your pockets.

When my Corsa C was written off last year I read up all this information about rejecting the first offer etc.
I did all my homework and reckoned the car was worth about £5k and I wouldn't accept less than that.
The guy from Norwich Union rang up and said he'd had a look around locally and would consider £6k a fair offer. I was stunned. Said I'd seen one I wanted nearby for £6.5k so he said ok.
Amazing stuff, £1500 over what I would have accepted no questions asked

If the parts are covered like for like (company like flux, brentacre, etc) then I think they would need to be left on, but any old company you should be fine

DizzyReble : the cars really quite badly damaged needs 2 new rear arches (they are bent a little) 2 new inner rear arches, new tail gait, new boot floor, and a slight straightening of the chasis lol.
all i really want off the car is the power box as i only put it on about 6 months ago and would like to have ti to sell on and re coup some money to get a better car.
problem is the car wont run if i take that off and put the old inlet manifold back on it lol as the TB is drilled to accept the after market manifold oh well shit happens
