It is possible to fit an F28 6 speed box to an XE but you need to convert it to front wheel drive and I know at least one person who has done it did say that the ratios weren't suited to a naturally aspirated engine.

There is a sandwich plate that needs to be fitted as it would of been fitted to a transfer box originally.

Bit of an expensive and pointless exercise

it wont. theyre virtually the same ratios with an extra gear on the end in a heavier gearbox. id imagine it would be either the same or due to slightly more weight maybe 0.05 of a second slower.

plus you'd need a different front gearbox mount. cut shorten and weld the gear linkage, a different clutch to suit the f28 and as someone said a fwd conversion plate for it.

Pete PVD ponce put an F28 on C3.

Awful, absolutly awful. Far too big, heavy gearbox. Car ran awful, hardly had the power to pull in 6th gear at all.

You want 6 gears, get the Quaiff 6 speed ratio's to fit inside the F20 box.
