hi iv got a w reg corsa sport with air con powersteering abs e.t.c and it has a factory fitted alarm i lost the only key for it and i managed to get one from vauxhall so now i can get in as usal e.t.c but it wouldnt start the car as it needs coding, but iv taken the chip and transponder unit out of a car im not going to be using a corsa sri and fitted it to this one, it wil try to fire and almost run for around 3 seconds then doesnt even attempt to fire the eml light is constantly flashing as soon as you turn the ignition on is there something else im needing to change? any help be muchly appreciated!  thanks lee

Youve taken out a chip and transponder that doesnt match the one built into your car, you need that chip recoding to match your car.

Yep transponder, chip and ecu all have to be from the same car.

well iv got the transponder and chip so the ecu needs to swapped to? well my sri ecu wont be the same as a sport will it? thing is it needs mot and tax so id have to get it trailerd to the garage to get coded

No keep the Sport ECU, you need the chip/transponder blanking and re-coding with the correct info to go with the Sport ECU, ring Vaux and see if they have anyone that can do mobile re-coding, we get people in to do our stolen recovered cars at work that have had new lock sets, they do it in the carpark.
Failing that, see if you can find out where your Sport was origionally from, i.e which garage it was sold at new, see if they still have the key number on record, ask for the number, and get a new one made up from Vaux, that will come with the correct chip/transponder.

ok mate cheers il give them a ring today hopfully they can do that  how ocme i cant use the sri ecu i know my sport has all the extras but there both the same engine? thanks lee
