whats the deadline for renewing your tax?
tax is due on the 30th, and no mot atm but its booked in on the 30th (i didnt realise it was up)
anyway, i have 2 problems atm that have to be sorted before the mot on thursday..
i just wondered what would happen if i didnt tax it till say the 3rd?

You used to get 7 days but unsure of the new SORN document laws
3 days should be ok tho as the disc will back date to the 1st anyways

you should be fine, i forgot about my tax for 4 months before SORNing it, never heard anything about it.

if i declare it sorn just to be on the safe side, how soon can it be taxed again?

surely if it passes then you can go stright to the tax office / post office and renew

I have my tax renewal form here and it says By law you as the registered keeper will not be committing an offence if you tax the vehicle or make a SORN within 14 days of the date of your current tax disc runs out.
Pay before 14 days after its run out?

ah rite, so its 14 days from the 30th until i HAVE to get it taxed!
well thats abit better as im having to cancel the MOT as the car is not right, the engine is idling very badly atm and spluttering to a stop..
so if i get close to the 14 days, ill have to declare it sorn.
bugger. lol
