nearly 2 years ago, i wrote off my 1.2 sxi
after a few people told me they had seen it going about, mainly my gf's uncle who seen the car parked outside someones house, and a few mates who seen it driving past them then i recieved a letter from the dvla informing me someone had applied to be the owner, so i thought fuck that the bastards there not getting it without it being written off, so i phoned them, informed them of the situation and they said ok we will sort this out, and asked about the v5, i said the insurance company hasnt asked for it, so they told me to send it to them. Which i did, this was at least 6 months ago, the car is still being seen driving around (looking much worse than when i had it) - i also went to the scrapies it went to and was speaking to a guy that worked there and he told me he bought the car off his work, fixed the damage and sold it on to a friend
ive done a few checks, the car is not insured but seems to be taxed which runs out on 1st of may
problem is if im still registed as the owner, having not recieved the confirmation letter to let me know i am no longer the owner, i could still recieve speeding fines points etc due to this, what should i do? call the cops? obviously i need to phone the dvla too
does a cat c need to be checked before it can go back on the road?
