What are these like, been looking at a 3.0 v6 one for work at the moment. The figures look quite good for size and spec etc... Anyone got any first hand experience of them tho?

barnshaw owns one. he likes it.
they drink petrol like crazy though, decent comfy barge with good power though.
the plus side is you'll look like a police officer in one and people will slow down, move over on motorways and let you past

My mate has the diesel one, ok cars but very very boring imo. My mate had a mint vec gsi before and it seems like such a downgrade.
Out of curiosity why the mondeo as oposed to a vectra vxr? Bmw 3 Series?

i got one matey, got it a few months ago, love it to bits, does shift for a family barge,
things to look out for - sagging rear bumper and the usual corroded alloys
dont expect good MPG because i am averaging about 17.p mpg

Just found it as a cheap salvage one; dont want to spend to much as have the 911 aswell so doesnt need to set the world on fire. Just like the look of it to be honest

i would say that might be sitting in 6th gear at 50mph,
if you do look at one, i would go for one after 2004 as they had facelift and 6 speed box etc

book says 30mpg combined for mine i get 17-18mpg
(urban) 19.8mpg / (extra urban) 35.8mpg / (combined) 27.7mpg for mondeo st220.
obviously you'll get the 27mpg on motorways, but the big 3.0 v6 is not good on petrol at all around town/booting it.
