hi , just looking at getting a cheap 1.2 engine . thing is the engine im currently after is a 1.2 16v where as my knackered engine is a 12v .
reason i was asking the new engine has no loom or ecu .
does anyone know if i could run the 1.2 16v using my 1.2 12v loom and ecu ? wouldnt of thought there would be much differance etc ?

If your engine is a 12v, then it's a 1.0, not a 1.2

However, if you mean your 1.2 is an 8v, then no, the loom, ECU and mounts will be different.

it's a 1.0 12v engine in an envoy is it not? just looked on google.

Its either a 1.0 12v, 1.2 16v. Only other engine they made in the envoy was the 1.7 D

Yep, mine's an Envoy

Because it has 3 cylinders, you won't be able to use the ECU etc with the 1.2.

You'd be best off putting another 12v in, getting a 1.4 put in properly, or getting DaveyLC to put a 1.8 16v in.

Open the bonnet and look, if it's like this then it's a 1.0 12v

ok .............. just been out to the car , seems the reg doc is wrong ?
code on the engine is x12xe . when you say fit a 1.4 properly what do you mean ? this is the culprit.....................

Really? Where abouts mate? Dont think I've seen your car about. Yeah the boot is a bit iffy at the min being painted monday though lol.

lol yeah i deliver to tamworth on a wednesday morning , then onto polesworth , usually pass you under the bridge thing the the roundabouts aldi/ford garage . im not in the car mate , im in a white transit , will flash the lights atyou next weds if i see you lol
