I need a car for work, needs to be fairly economical (30mpg ish), nothing to slow (nothing less than 90bhp per tonne roughly), and not look too shit.

any ideas for cars to look out for?

306's are only things I can think of as I have a soft spot for them plus i'd have wheels and tyres etc off my current shed, but can't really think of much else, thinking I might be dictated too by the best deal but would rather have a few good ideas in mind to have a browse over.

peugeot 306 1.8? the facelift model? i know of one for sale in north yorkshire
the spec is HUGE! semi leather seats, alloys, sideskirts, etc etc...

I'd suggest a Citroen Xsara personally, its basicaly a 306 underneath so your wheels will go straight on. Plus you can pick up a VTS for ~£1300 and they do 32 MPG.
