Thinners may bring it off, it wont damage the surrounding paint aslong as it hasn't been rattle canned, and obviously dont leave thinners on the paint.

Depends what you plan to do afterwards with it - could wet sand a fair amount of that off.

I'm guessing sponge lol

With the thinners, rub gently on it and have a bucket and sponge of clean soapy water to clean the paint off afterwards.

thanks guys..

rust isnt bad at all tbh fazza, i mean for a ford anyway, seen alot worse then that in my time..

main thing is to remove the awfull touch up, i mean the slight rust is part of the character

(my red mk4 for example more pics of my others in my garage)



only going to be a cheap runabout etc to get from a-b..

1 lady owner from new, never gone over 3000rpm to and from the shops springs to mind!

I had a 1.1 in the same blue as above, 75 quid bit of rust on one back arch and on the bonnet lip with 12 months MOT lol.

Sold it for £250
