So basically if I go for the S3 over the A3, im getting atleast 210 if not 225. Plus Quattro wheels and more potential?

BAM is the engine code for the 225, APY or AMK for the 210.
I believe they both feel the same kind of performance anyway so I wouldn't worry too much about which engine. Also the 210 is supposed to be better for tuning, but again I think its a pretty small difference.

Pretty sure they're 150bhp. The Quattro's like mine are 180bhp.
You could get an A3 Quattro Turbo and remap it. Should see 210bhp+.

or an A3 1.8T (like mine) and remap it to a reliable 207hp but you wouldn't have the Quattro
TomTom, if you ever sell your car, let me have first dibs on your wheels - unless I've sold mine beforehand

Ok, thats what I wanted to hear. Revo map? Would people say thats the best?
Some more questions... Whats the best way of getting good power from that particular engine without spending thousands.
Remap / Carbon Viper- BMC / Half system + leave it at that?
270 bhp maybe?

I can't remember what a guy at work had done to his 225 S3 but may of only been a remap and he saw 272bhp. I will ask him when i see him.

From reading around the place, it seems a remap is all you need to see a nice power gain. That's what I'm going to do and leave it at that (when I can be assed).

Uprate the standard dump valve for a stainless forge item as the standard one is just plastic and breaks easily, also a good panel filter in the standard air box is just as good if not better than a cone filter and then remap it.
Exhaust wise go for a turbo back item, its expensive but worth it.

I've just replaced the cone filter that came on my car for a standard airbox after trying to track down a reasonanly priced one for months.
Drives so much better, don't bother with a cone !

Although I know the standard airbox is better, did the cone give any extra sound or anything?

Drill and smooth the air box and the noise is just as good, trust me I've done it to mine lol
The Green cotton panel filter is one of the best out there and costs about £40 all in.

02/52 is likely to be BAM
BAM has VVT but the 210 has slightly stronger conrods
Both tune to same really
I raced my mates 210 S3 in my TT225
Not sure of weights etc but basically I pulled away in 3rd and 4th
