First of all, other than cash what would be the safest way to sell a car? A guy wants to come down from manchester to look at my car tomorrow but doesnt want to carry that much cash on the train. What other form of payment would you take?

Also, if you lose a tax disc do you have to buy tax again or can you get a replacement?

Thanks.

Bankers draft, taking it into the bank then and there only gives some piece of mind, the people in the bank don't even know if they are real or not.

Phone the bank he got teh draft from and find out if they have issued one with that number, then it's just about as good as cash.

Cash ftw though.

Go with him to the bank and have him draw the cash out, then go to your bank and pay it in.

Just make sure he has appropriate ID to draw that much out. I usually just take a passport and a bill and trousers with a zip on.
