alright everyone!
new on here like the forum class and all that!
I own a Corsa 1.4 sri 8v in flame red (can somone tell me how to post pics)
it already has some mod's done ;
-full straight through custom exhaust
-K&N induction kit
-lowered 60mm on coilies 60mm back lowering springs
-SXI corsa alloys (there pants)
-full mutant sound system
Now basicly I want it to go down the GSi replica route but like the way it looks just now. Is there any engine mod's i can do to make it a wee bit nippy'er??
also if putting a full GSi kit onit is there anything i need to do (cutting, welding etc)
want to have it look as sweet as a nut for our local cruise (www.ekcruise.co.uk)
cheers
steven

Tbh the 1.4 8v is not the easiest engine to get lots of power from. Save up for a conversion Oh and make an account with Photobucket.com upload pics, then paste the links into this thread. Welcome btw!

can you get second hand twin 40's as i know they are a bit expensive??
and is it true 1.6 GSi Injectors would fit straight in and work perfectly or would this cause over fueling and over knocking?

They are a tad pricey yeah.
Try www.novaload.net and check the for sale section etc. Very popular engine in the Nova.
As for the injectors, i wouldnt recommend it, but dont take that as gospel.

engine conversion would be cheaper than modifying your 1400 8v. wouldnt waste cash doing it imo

I beg to differ. The C14SE has a very good head design and can have quite good gains if done correctly. As with the C16SE or E16SE. Respond well to headwork and a cam.

£500 gets you 150bhp from a c20xe, will £500 get you 150bhp from a 14se?
£1000 gets you 200bhp from a V6. Will £1000 get you 200bhp from a 14se?

yea but the lads just said with his age he can't put a 2.0 in never mind a v6, also if he does put the above engines in there is things like brakes and suspension he needs to get.

But if all mods are declared when tuning an 8v with carbs etc it'll rocket up too Best to save and get the NCB.

If hes going to spend £500+ tuning it, its going to add a fair bit to his premium too. May as well just buy a gsi instead and then insure it as it will work out just the same to start with.

Being a C14SE owner myself i know exactly how it is to get mad gains out of it lol
all i've done to mine is skim the head...Induction kit...cat back system with twin squared oval exhaust system...and its nippy enough...never really had any problems with other 1.4's...its a good little engine...enough 2 keep you happy for a while

8v is a great lump for tuning. It just doesn't make stupid big bhp like the 16v's do.
Cam, flowed head, exhaust, twin 40's, should be knocking on 120bhp odd and if its stripped it'll go a lot quicker than it sounds like it should.
