Those of you taking the piss as Tom works in a car wash want to get real. Least this guy is not signing on the dole and possibly using the job to get some cash while he gets another sparkie role.
The boss sounds like a complete prick. Anyone can open and run a car wash but not everyone can wire a house. Just get something else while in-between jobs.
I was made redundant 5 weeks ago and today been offered another job on more money eventually doing the same stuff. I'll also be doing less miles and not out on the road all the time.
Spent my time off doing some decorating and time with my family.

I've not even washed my own for about 4 months
The old man is getting someone out to clean all the cars next week Think the bag of chips spread across the back footwells of the pug convinced him it needed to be done

Sounds like you dealt yourself your fate, however much it costs you to get to work shouldn't be an issue with your boss unless he agrees pre-contract to pay your fees.
He gave you a job FFS, what more did you want?
