do not do your full test on a rs125.

i did it on a cg125 so easy, a sports bike will make maneuvres that much harder

if your doing it on your own bike it shold be 125 or up to 33bhp i think

if its got a bigger engine in but restricted to 33bhp then u will need to prove it with a stamped certificate from whoever installed the restrictor, etc

i wouldnt think they will be impressed if you turned up on a modified 125 bike

If thats correct, then Ill carry on and not cancel my theory test.

I know the turning circle is a little poor on my RS, but I would rather take it on a bike I can practice on for a month beforehand? Or is this really really not advisable I love this bike

If your 125 is derestricted then to 25kW or 33bhp (whatever it is) then you shouldn't be riding it on your provisional. However, you will be able to do your test on it as you will be accompanied by an examiner.

At the end of the day I wouldn't advise doing your test on an RS125

cbrs about as bad mate.

the main thing will be the u turn.

can you turn the rs within the width of a normal road?

on sportsbikes its nigh on impossible without putting your foot down

I know I shouldnt be riding it, but who the fuck pays to RESTRICT a bike

edit - ive not attempted it yet, I will do. Apparently you walk it round first to make sure the road is actually wide enough to accomplish the turn - if I cant find a road wide enough wahey

Agreed on the turn in the road on a sportsbike. I can just about do it now on mine, but I have got 3 years experience on bikes....CG just turns in and goes straight round.

Ive been out for a ride, a staggeringly wide road and yep, full lock, mounted the (small) kerb

The U turn isnt the problem, I can do it, there just isnt a road around here that is wide enough to accomodate my stupid bike

i had a cbr125 and had the same problem, was really close just a normal ride wasnt wide enough for me.

keep practicing every day and you may be able to do it, though your just making it harder for yourself

you are legal mate category (A) IS BIKE ENTITLEMENT ur safe lol

i know this because my licence is the same as urs and i passed my bike test january just gone on kawasaki er500.....

if i were u mate i would do bigger licence on a 500 it so much easier to moneuver than 125 as it feels more planted, the extra weight and power actually help you out

As the law stands, unless you have a full motorcycle licence your only allowed to ride a motorcycle of no more than 125cc and no more than 14.6bhp. De-restricted the RS is about 30bhp so your illegal, however in my 5 years of working with bikes ive never once heard a 125 or 50 be dyno tested by authorities to prove its legality.

As for your test, its easier to do it on a CG but if you cant walk the RS round a street then you wont have to do the turn in the road manouvre which isnt actually beneficial today as hardly and bikes will do it. You might find actually that CY wont let you use the RS for a test, but if it averts you the turn in the road manouvre then id do my best to try use it!

If your over 21 though id just do DAS, the test is done on a 500cc then anyway so the RS wont be an option.
